The new Great Wall Haval H7 SUV debuted last month at the Beijing Auto Show. Great Wall said at the time the H7 would be launched on the Chinese car market in late 2012. Chinese media however reports today that the H7 is delayed one full year until the end of 2013. Very strange indeed because the H7 seemed completely production-ready.

The problem seems to be the new 218hp 2.0 turbo engine, rumors say its development has suffered an unspecified set-back. The H7 is a big risk for Great Wall so I guess they want to make sure everything is perfectly fine when it hits the market. The Haval H7 is the biggest Great Wall car so far, with the biggest and strongest engine. It will also be the most expensive vehicle in Great Wall’s line-up, entering a completely new market segment for the brand. Still, a delay of a whole year seems a lot.

  1. Well, then every car nowadays looks like some cars mated with others or similar regardless of where it was made or designed.
