It is refreshing to see a Chinese car company copying a German pickup truck instead of yet another shoddy American product. This is the Hengtian T3, an almost 100% perfect copy of the Volkswagen Amarok, which in actually and only made in Argentina.
The Hengtian T3 will slot above the existing Hengtian T1 (Chevy!) and Hengtian T2, the T3 will hit the Chinese car market later this year, priced around 70.000 yuan or 11.000 USD. The Amarok is currently not available in China, but that might change, and costs around 35.000 dollar in the US.

The T3 will likely get the same engines as the T1 and T2, a 2.2 liter patrol or a 2.8 liter turbo diesel, both sourced from Izusu. Hengtian Auto is a subsidiary of CHTC Auto, aka ‘High Tech Truck Corporation’ (web).

Looks like the inherited, and old, Dadi cab with another new nose. Aside from it I don’t see much resemblance.
To me it looks like a 1980s Isuzu pickup with a new nose containing a set of lights that look similar to those on the Mk5 VW Golf. Doesn’t look any more like an Amarok than any other similar-sized pick-up does.
Our older trucks may have been built cheaply but they last over 100k. This? Doubt it. Its cheap but thats it. Besides, our recent trucks (Ford F-150, Ranger, Chevy Colorado, Silverado, RAM) are the best we’ve ever built and def on par with the Japanese (who are represented by the well built but lacking Toyota Tundra)…However, the Hilux gets the vote as the best truck ever IMO

You seem to have it backwards.
I used to have a 99 ford ranger, best damn truck I ever had, have had two f150s and a f250, they were all good, the ranger was just right though. Now if you are talking about a shoddy chevy….thats another story. Still chinese are shocked at the idea of driving a car more than 100,000 km let alone 100,000 miles, or the 240,000 miles I had on my last vehicle.
