Here we have another amazing Super Car Super Spot© from China. Reader & serial spotter Navigator 84 found over 15 super cars parked in front of the Sky Fortune Hotel in the great city of Shanghai, thank you for the pictures! The monsters were in town for the ‘2012 Super Show’, a super car event on the Shanghai F1 circuit that was held from June 22 to 24, hot on da heels of an earlier super car event that was held in late May on the same circuit. Too many super cars in this country! More on the Super Show later, including pics from the track, now back to the hotel!
The American car news website CarBuzz.com systematically steals my content for their China-tag. CarBuzz.com steals my pictures, my information, but does not link back to me. This has been going on for more than half a year now. I have been in touch with CarBuzz.com. They promised me three times to make things better and link back to me. After each promise they did so for a short while, but then they ‘forgot’ it again.
When I checked their website last week I found yet another five articles, stolen from this website, without any link back. What made me really angry was that they even stole an article with my very own pictures. I again sent CarBuzz.com an email but didn’t get any reply. I then send CarBuzz.com one email more but still no reply.
I have always been very polite, I said ‘please’, but all to no avail. I believe CarBuzz’ thievery has crossed a line and therefore this rather unusual article. See below for the list of stolen articles and the names of the editor-in-thieves who did the ‘work’.
This is the best news I heard so far today. The mad Geely Emgrand GE limousine will make it to the production line, it is expected to hit the Chinese car market in 2014. The Geely Emgrand GE debuted as the ‘Geely GE’ concept on the 2008 Beijing Auto Show. The whole world was laughing because it looked just like a Rolls-Royce Phantom and it had only one captain-seat in the back.
The Hongqi L7 debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April, the L7 is the short wheelbase version of the massive CA7600L state-limousine-parade car that debuted at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. Earlier on we heard the Hongqi (Red Flag) L7 would only be available for the government but that doesn’t seem the case exactly. The government however will get it first when ‘delegates’ will be chauffeured around town during the ’18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China’ (wiki) in October. Next year however the L7 will come available for all…
New spy shots show a Roewe 550 with a DCT, it will be mated to the 1.8 turbo that poops out 160hp and 215nm. Chinese media say the 550 DCT will be available before the end of this year. The same media are however a bit confused about which 550 will get the DCT first.
Spy shot from the BMW Active Hybrid 5 hybridding around in China. Chinese media report the AH5 will be launched on the Chinese car market this year, it will be imported and sold by the Brilliance-BMW dealer network. Last year the Brilliance-BMW joint venture announced they were working on a hybrid Five based on the China-made 5Li, that greeny will debut in late 2013. Via: Sohu.
A Cadillac CTS Coupe in a very interesting color combination. This fine car comes in matte-black with chrome on the doors and rear deck. Bit of stealth and a bit of Bling. We think in this case it would have been better to make a choice. But waddo we know?! The Caddy was seen by reader Carra12 in the great city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, thank you for the pics!
The Mazda CX-9 SUV has been spotted testing in China. Chinese media reports the CX-9 will be imported into China from early 2013 to compete with other imported SUV’s such as the succesful Toyota Highlander. The CX-9 will be sold by the FAW-Mazda dealer network. Power will come from the 3.7 V6 but there will likely be a smaller four-pot available as well. Via: Autohome.
Finally we have the very first pictures of the new Volkswagen Santana for the Chinese car market. The new Santana, codenamed ‘Santana NF’, will arrive in November to replace to good old old Santana that has been on the market since 1985 until today. The Santana NF is based on the Volkswagen Polo sedan and will be positioned above the Polo. The new Volkswagen Jetta, which will arrive in early 2013, is also based on the Polo sedan and will be positioned below the Polo.
Spy shots from the new Ford Fiesta turbo testing in China, it will get the 1.0 Ecoboost turbocharged engine under the bonnet, good for 125hp and mated to a Powershift DCT. The 1.0 will replace the aging 1.3. At the same time the Fiesta will get a small facelift, the updated package will arrive on the Chinese car market later this year.
