The very first spy shots of the new Haima Family sedan testing in China. The new Family will be launched on the Chinese auto market in 2014. Haima says it will be based on an all-new platform, meaning the Mazda-roots from the current Family will, likely, be gone.

Haima is working on a brand-new engine family which will spawn a 1.3, a 1.5 and a 1.8. The Family will likely get the 1.5, no information available yet on horsepower. Haima is also working on a new 6-speed tiptronic transmission but if that goes into the Family is not sure at this moment.

  1. These new vehicles coming from Haima will be world class and ready for a massive export push.

Haima will be one of the Chinese automotive brands which becomes known worldwide.

  2. Here’s how Haima’s product push looks:
    Haima Yao (Midsize) 2013
    Haima V30 (Subcompact) 2012/2013
    New Haima Family (Compact) 2014
    Haima C2 (Subcompact/Compact SUV) 2013/2014
New Haima Engines 1.3-1.8 (including turbos) debut on Yao and Family, maybe V30 as well
    New Haima platforms

At the rate Haima’s going, they will easily surpass (if they haven’t already) their parent FAW, Besturn, and Hong qi. At this rate, I think they have the potential to become very well known outside of China and Asia.

  3. @ CarsAroundTheWorld – I agree, although Besturn is being moved towards being a premium brand, and Hongqi a luxury brand, so there is room for all three.

If FAW are clever then they will start pushing Haima as their main brand – particularly in export markets – and ditch their other volume brands used in China.
