The new Lifan 720 has been launched at the Guangzhou Auto Show and on the Chinese auto market. There is only one, how easy, and it costs 79.800 yuan. That is a big and kinda fuzzy looking car for not much money, car buyers in second and third tier cities will start counting their cash…

Power comes from a 1.8 with 128hp and 159nm, mated to a 5-speed manual. There will be no automatic or CVT available. All together a rather old fashioned set up; cheap has to come from somewhere… Size: 4705/1773/1500, wheelbase is 2700. The 720 is the biggest Lifan so far and enters a hotly contested segment of the market. Main competitors are the Great Wall C50 and the Brilliance H530.

Dashboard not perfect yet but much better than in cheaper Lifan cars. Screen on the small side.

  1. This is definetely a great car for the money. If I were in the place to buy a new car and I´d ask for something special, I´d go to a dealer who´s specialised in “grey” imports and ask for this new Lifan 720.
If you install an aftermarket ESC, you can get a license for it in Germany without any problems!

It would be worth to ask if it´s possible to install ESC after it arrives European territory.

  2. Exterior view, which is otherwise really good, is ruined by ridiculously small wheels for the body size. Why do Chinese carmakers always do this?

Interior looks VERY cheap and low grade.
