The very first pictures from the passenger variant of the new Dongfeng mini-MPV, earlier this month we saw the first pictures of the CDV variant. The new mini-MPV will be called F505 when it hits the Chinese car market later this year. The F505 will be manufactured by Dongfeng Xiaokang, a subsidiary that specializes in light commercial vehicles.
There will be two engines: a 1.3 diesel with 75hp and a 1.5 petrol with 115hp, both mated to a 5-speed manual. Size: 4365/1720/1770mm, wheelbase is 2725. Price will range from 45.000 yuan to 60.000 yuan. The Dongfeng F505 is aimed straight at Wuling Hongguang which basically owns the mini-MPV segment at the moment, only slightly bothered by the Chang’an Ounuo.

1.3 diesel Fiat engine?
Sure it looks Volkswageny across the grille, but doesn’t feel like a copy the way other Chinese cars have. If they landed this here at Great Wall prices I’d consider one for business use. Its nicely proportioned.
If all they did was change the grille to a different design, say vertical instead of horizontal, or body colored, it wouldn’t look like a VW at all!
The front is a shameless copy of the current VW design and the rear looks completely outdated and boring!
