The very first spy shots of the facelifted MG3, seen all-naked in orange on the factory parking lot. The facelift includes a new grille, new head lights, new rear lights, and a new front bumper with very hip LED-thingies. It all looks fresh, but the front overhang seems just gigantic. Compare:
The current MG3 with a better balanced front. Price ranges from 69.700 yuan to 103.700 yuan. Engines: 1.3 and 1.5, mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. The engines and transmissions will continue and price will be about the same.
Rear lights slightly redesigned, otherwise no changes at the back. The facelifted MG3 will be launched on the Chinese car market in Q4, debut is expected for the Chengdu Auto Show in September.
They should have concentrated on giving the MG 5 a facelift. It certainly needs one and a radical one at that.
The 5 is undergoing a facelift.
Is this a facelift destined for China, it’s actually the new European model destined for the UK around September.
By the way, the headlamps aren’t new, they are unchanged.
Looking closer the facelifted car is right hand drive so it’s a British car, possibly nothing to do with being released in China.
The British spec MG 3 is meant to be launched in China as well.
What’s the point of that?
I thought we were meant to be getting something better for the premium in price we are paying?
Bad move by SAIC if they sell the exact same UK spec car in China but at £3k less.
The rear also has a high spoiler and lower rear diffuser.
I think that orange one looks fantastic!
