The very first spy shots of the production version of the SouEast V7 sedan. The SouEast V7 debuted as a concept on the Shanghai Auto Show in April, the production version will debut on the Beijing Auto Show in April 2014. The SouEast V7 is based on the Mitsubishi Galant that is made in China by the SouEast-Mitsubishi joint venture.
The SouEast-Mistubishi Galant. Price starts at 149.800 yuan and ends at 199.800 yuan. Power comes from 2.0 and 2.4 liter four-cylinder engines. The SouEast V7 will get the same engines and the 141hp 1.5 turbo that recently debuted in the SouEast V6. SouEast is also working on its own 1.8 turbo that will eventually replace the rather old Mitsubishi 2.4. Price for the SouEast V7 will start around 120.000 yuan.
The V7 concept looked spectacular. However, the front of the white test car is still completely Mitsubishi, so the real thing might be better anyway.
The rear seems finished, with a SouEast logo and badge.
Soueast, the car company with a funny, oft-misspelled name (even on its website), has seen its share of recalls lately. Will Dongfeng’s new oversight put her back on track, I wonder?
