Luxgen hopes to win Chinese buyers by offering premium quality cars with high tech engines and interiors. Pricing is smartly set between the most expensive local Chinese brands and the cheapest international brands. Luxgen however is still a relatively unknown name, so the challenge is mostly marketing. The giant Luxgen 7 SUV is selling well, but the Luxgen 5 Sedan is trailing behind.

  1. My god with this price they think they are what? the Porsche of Asia
almost 40 thousands dollars, wit this you can buy an Acura MDX in the US

    • 40.000usd = 250.000 RMB

      price for U6 – 128.800 yuan and ends at 208.000 yuan = 20.700 usd – 33.400 USD

slimliar price to Hyundai ix35, KIA Sportage, Nissan Qashqai, Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4,

price for smal SUV Porsche MAcan 688.000 RMB -998.000RMB = 110.000 usd – 160.000 USD

      • I just mention brands that are known in the all world
get out of china/Taiwan and ask for the brand and u will see how many person know the brand
and then you justify the unjustifiable

        • It isn’t quite so easy to compare from market to market as there are so many factors to take in, in regards to pricing. Here in Aus. the Luxgen would be a good buy as it would competitive at the above pricing. Here, ix35, $28-$41,000, RAV4, $29-$51000, Macan, $85-$123,000, and the MDX hasn’t been sold here for years as it was too expensive. It was sold against the BMW X5 which at the moment starts from $99,900, too much for a “Honda”. I guess that it is a blessing to be able to buy cars so cheap in the states, so enjoy what you can get. I like the look of the Luxgen and whilst it wouldn’t suite me personally, I can see it working at the right price in the right market. Oh, buy the way, we can get US made trucks here, but we have to pay $100,000-$150,000 for a F150, or a Ram etc. Compare that to what you pay in the good ol’ USA. Be thankful that housing and transport is so cheap there.

  2. I’m sympathetic with Luxgen. I like their designs, although can’t consider them exactly as original. Luxgen sells about 15000 cars per year in Taiwan and hopefully with the U6 their sales will boost in China

  3. I wonder why Luxgen does not invest into sponsoring an F1 team? Sure, sponsoring top team will cost lots of money. However, there are back markers, like Marussia F1, which I am sure will be glad to give large advertizing space for a reasonable fee. Especially because Luxgen is trying to penetrate the Russian market, by sponsoring a “Russian” F1 team may give them much needed exposure. Of course, there is a risk of being associated with poor performers, but by backing a “local” team may give more positive image and brand recognition rather than drawbacks.
