A big crash in southwest Beijing. A Toyota Corolla hit a Rolls-Royce Ghost full on the right-rear wheel. The accident happened on a zebra crossing in front of a hotel. The Roller has Shanghai license plates, indicating it had a long ride behind. Note hood ornament in gold. And we got a GIF from a security cam:

The Ghost is double at fault. It should wait for ongoing traffic and it rides straight over mentioned zebra crossing. The Toyota, at about 80km/h, hits the Rolls quite hard.

The driver of the Corolla, a woman, wearing high heeled shoes, a short black skirt, and a green vest. Damage doesn’t seem that bad. Toyota’s are strong…

  1. Looking at the picture, how come Toyota’s airbag didn’t come out? R&R side curtain bag had deployed. R&R’s gas cap door is on the ground. Wheel looks pretty in-tact. Interesting!

  2. Good that everyone seems to be ok. Just a little surprised that the corolla didn’t stop in time. The roller sure was in the wrong, I wasn’t there to be a witness, and the road seems wet, but at 80km/h I would have thought that the impact would have been less. Perhaps it was the shoes, a mobile phone or some other distraction, but I would have expected a smaller impact. I would have expected a visual of the Rolls when the corolla was near the painted diamond giving quite a few meters to slow down. But as I have already said, I wasn’t there and am glad that all the people are ok.
