New spy shots of the new Volkswagen Lamando, showing that the sleek new sedan is almost ready for the China car market. The Volkswagen Lamando will be launched on the Chinese auto market in ovember, price will start around 180.000 yuan or 29.000 USD. Chinese name is Ling Du (凌渡).
The Lamando debuted last month on the Chengdu Auto Show. It is based on the MQB platform, the same platform that also underpins the Volkswagen Golf 7.
The Lamando is developed to attack the mighty popular Mercedes-Benz CLA. The Lamando will be manufactured in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. Power will come from 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TSI four-cylinder petrol engines, both mated to a seven-speed DSG.
do the guys of vw think if they say is a 4/4 it will be one. sorry 2 disanpointe u this is a sedan and period.
I though the Qoros 3 looked similar to a volkswagen, but side on it looks like VW copied Qoros, even the wheels. This aint no mini-CC. Boot goes out too far in my opinion, it looks like a cross between normal passat and Jetta!
Hey Tycho,
The Chinese car news sites are spreading a bit of misinformation. The launch engines will be the 1.4T (150hp) and 1.8T (180hp, new engine from Golf 7/ Passat B8 in Europe).
The 2.0T will come later with the GLI version.
