This is the new Beijing Auto Huansu S6 SUV, seen here at a product presentation for dealers and still officially secret. The Huansu S6 will be launched on the Chinese car market in the second half of the year. Price will start somewhere around 100.000 yuan. The vehicle seems ready enough, featuring a sporty look with a heavily chromed grille.

Huansu is a new sub brand under Beijing Auto. The S6 will be their third car after the Huansu S2 and Huansu S3. The Huansu series are manufactured by Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile, a joint venture between the Beijing Auto (Beiqi) and the Yinxiang Motorcycle Group. Huansu means ‘Magic Speed’.

The Huansu S6 will be available with two four-cylinder petrol engines: a 1.5 turbo with 150hp and 215nm, and a 2.0 turbo with 201 hp and 290nm, both mated to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Size: 4688/1839/1683mm, wheelbase is 2700.

The Beijing Auto Huansu S6 is very similar to the upcoming Beijing Auto Senova X65. It is about the same size, the same price, and will be powered by the same engines. It seems likely that the S6 and X65 are based on the same platform. Size X65: 4654/1816/1680mm, wheelbase is 2670.

Dual tone seats are fast becoming a new trend among Chinese automakers. Beijing Auto will joint the party. Note funky door.

  1. In April you gave us these dimensions for the S6:
    Size:4583x1823x1678mm,wheelbase is 2700mm. Quite a bit smaller….
So can we conclude that today’s posted dimensions are the latest, and correct?

    • Yes. The April car was a 1:1 mock-up, today’s car is the production version, so the latest are most likely correct (this being China, you can only be 100% sure when the car hits the market). And the April car and today’s car don’t differ that much actually, wheelbase is the same.
