This is the superbly cool Qianli Kele, a new low-speed electric vehicle (LSEV) from China, seen last week on the Shandong EV Expo  (intro). The Qianli Kele is a mini-mini bus, dressed here in school bus yellow and featuring A BMW-style grille, black wheel arches, huge mirrors, a single windscreen wiper, an antenna on the A-pillar, a black roof, and sporty shiny alloys.

The Kele is designed for taxi and school bus duties in third and fourth tier cities and the countryside. It seats two at the front and six adults in the back, facing each other 3×3 on benches on each side. When it comes to children at least ten will fit in, depending on age and size.

Dash not too bad with an alu center console, round vents with shiny rims, a single digital dial, and a surprisingly well-designed steering wheel. The drive selector is located on the center console just under the main control panel. The panic button sits to the right of the selector, making it an attractive target for a happy kid.

Single door at the back opens to the left. Light units are located low in the bumper. The body is made out of polyester and the windows are plastic.

The Qianli Kele by a company called Shandong Qianli New Energy Technology Corporation (web), based in the great city of Yucheng in Shandong Province. The company makes all sorts of fuzzy mini EV’s, including the famous Sea Turtle, a mini mini MPV, a larger hatch based on the body of the BYD F0, and a sportscar, which sadly wasn’t on the show.

Not another market segment for BMW; this is the Qianli Kele. It is powered by a tiny electric motor with an output of 1.5 Kw, good for a 40 kilometer per hour top speed and a 100 kilometer range. The Kele is very small and very light: 2680/1250/1550, and weight is 400 kilo. All specs by the manufacturer.

They had a Sea Turtle on the show as well, fitted with a silver-colored shield-shaped logo. Single wiper again.
