Spy Shots showing the all-new Nissan Lannia, sporting a impressive snout and looking completely ready for its launch on the Chinese car market in September. The Nissan Lannia is a China-only mid-size B-segment sedan, it is the production version of the 2014 Nissan Lannia concept.

The production version debuted in April on the Shanghai Auto Show. The Chinese name of the Lannia is ‘Lanniao’ (蓝鸟), or Bluebird.

The Lannia was designed by the Nissan China Design Center (NDC) and the Nissan Global Design Center (NGDC). It will be manufactured in China by the long-running Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture that makes a wide range of Nissan-branded cars for the Chinese car market.

At launch there will be only one engine available; a 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol with 126hp mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Later on a 1.8 will joint the line-up. Size: 4683/1780/1465, wheelbase is 2700.

  1. Nissan’s Bluebird has been around forever in China, entering with Nissan’s Taiwan partner Yulon, and preceding the current DFL joint venture. But it’s puzzling that Nissan didn’t choose to get credit for this “China-only” model under a sub-brand.

I like that nose too Tycho and the rest of the vehicle as well.

  2. The Lannia, with Nissan’s 1.6T, would have a better chance for success in the US market than the oddly styled Juke. The Juke drives well but the design is too polarizing for many to consider.
