The facelifted Hyundai Mistra launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 129.800 yuan and ends at 176.800 yuan. The facelift includes a new grille, new lights, new bumpers, and an updated interior.

The Hyundai Mistra debuted in 2013. It is a China-only ‘compact-premium’ sedan, positioned between the Elantra and the Sonata. It is manufactured at the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.

The new interior looks good although a tad too dark for my taste.

Hyundai continues to go for analogue dials whereas the competition, especially the Chinese, are mostly fitting digital instrument panels these days.

An 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, which is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Baidu CarLife. It also has a reverse-parking camera. Note Clean Air button on the right below the screen, it activates an air purifying system for the dirty days, which we sadly have a lot of in China.

The new rear end with rather complicated lights and a very simple bumper. Exhaust pipe is neatly hidden on the right side.

Grille design is almost daring, especially for Hyundai China which is conservative to the max. We always cheer when a new Hyundai comes out because it makes all the other cars on the road look less boring. But is this new grille a sign of more exciting things to come..?
