Hybrid Kinetic is teasing a new concept car that will debut on the Geneva Motor Show on March 5. The car is called ‘GT’ and will feature a sleek coupe-like profile with gull-wing doors.

This white wonder is the new Hawtai Shengdafei 5 PHEV, a plug-in electric SUV that will be launched on the Chinese car market next March. The PHEV is based on the petrol-powered Shengdafei. Last year Hawtai launched a full electric version of the Shenngdafei.
Yesterday we saw the launch of the new Polestar 1, a concept previewing a new hybrid coupe of Volvo’s new electric performance brand (yes I know…), and today we have more about the underlying technology. Let’s start with the powertrain:
Volvo has launched a new brand. It is called Polestar and it will build sporty high-end electric cars. Their first car will be the Polestar 1, the production version of the 2013 Volvo Concept Coupe. Production will start in 2019 in a new factory in Chengdu, China. Next up is the Polestar 2 which will be aimed at the Tesla Model 3, and then it is time for the Polestar 3 which will do battle with the Tesla Model X.
The Polestar 1 is a brilliant looking car with an empty grille and beautiful wheels. So far so good. There is however a big question:
Exeed is a new premium brand under Chery Auto. In China it will compete with WEY and Lynk&Co. The TX is their first car. It will be launched on the Chinese car market in 2018, and Chery has plans to bring the Exeed brand to the rest of the world as well, although they didn’t show any timetable yet.
BYD is testing the new Tang SUV. It will debut in early 2018, likely on the Beijing Auto Show in April. Design wise it is largely based on the beautiful Dynasty concept car, featuring a giant grille and sharply cut lines. The days of the ’round’ BYDs are over, it seems.
These are the first photos of the plug-in hybrid version of the BYD Song Max MPV. It is going to be a spectacular car. It will combine a 156hp petrol engine with two electric motors, one on each axle. Combined output is a massive 446hp and 740nm. Yes, that is four-hundred forty-six. In a mid-sized MPV!
Name talk: the Song Max is the final and official name for the car formerly known as the Song 7 and the Song MPV.
