Volkswagen will bring the Golf Variant to the Chinese market as an import. The Golf Variant will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April and be listed soon therafter. The Chinese car market is slowly warming up to wagons, seen as ‘lifestyle’ automobiles. Volkswagen already imports the Passat/Magotan Variant and Volvo is thinking about the V50. Big estate makers Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi currently don’t sell wagons in China yet.
