Volvo has launched the S60 T5 sedan and the XC60 SUV at the 2011 Chengdu Auto Show, aiming at a Chinese car market that gets more and more interest in high performance vehicles. Both cars will be imported. Geely, Volvo’s owner, has plans to make the S60 and XC60 in China, production however won’t start before 2013.

The T5’s share the same engine and unlike the name suggest it is no 5-cylinder as in the good old days. It is a 2.0 4-cylinder instead with 240hp and 320nm, mated to a dual-clutch Powershift gearbox. Prices in China: S60 T5: 339.800 yuan, XC60 T5: 408.000 yuan.
