The Buick Encore SUV will be launched on the Chinese car market in November, new spy shots show the Encore is basically ready to roll. The Buick Encore will be made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture, price will start around 170.000 yuan.

Chinese media say Buick will only offer the top-spec Encore on the Chinese market, so there will be no cheap entry-level budget model for this one. If true, a somewhat strange decision. Price still matters a lot in China, a cheaper budget Encore will bring in many buyers. Engines: 1.4 turbo seems sure, 1.6 turbo seems a little less sure, 2.0 seems unlikely, 1.6 seems very unlikely, at least at launch.  The China-made Buick Encore is expected to debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
