The new BYD F3 debuted in April on the Beijing Auto Show, called ‘F3 Su Rui’, meaning ‘quick sharp’. This lead to some speculation that the current F3 might continue for a while as a budget model. New reports in Chinese media indicate that BYD will drop ‘F3’ completely, the new car will so be called ‘BYD Su Rui’. It will be launched on the China car market in late August.
Buyers will be able to choose between two different engines: a naturally aspirated 109hp 1.5 mated to a five-speed manual or the new 1.5 turbo ‘TID’ engine mated to a 6-speed DCT. Later on an older and cheaper 1.8 will be available as well.
