Seat Ibiza comes to China, times Three

The Seat Ibiza will be launched on the Chinese car market early next year, in threefold: the 5-door, the 3-door SC and the ST station wagon. All three Ibizaaz will have their China debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show later this month.

The Ibazaaz will be imported and therefore expensive, which in this segment seems to be a serious handicap. Volkswagen is positioning Seat as a sporty and thus expensive brand. That might work with fast cars such as the Leon Cupra, but I doubt it will work with a Polo-based vehicle that is considered cheap and kinda crappy in Europe, a fact well known by the Chinese automotive press.
