The best spy shots so far of the upcoming Chery Tiggo 5, formerly known as the Chery T21 SUV. The Chery Tiggo 5 is the successor of the successful Chery Tiggo 3. The Tiggo 5 will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show later this month and it will be launched on the Chinese car market in the second half of this year.
Engines: 132hp 2.0 and 126hp 1.6. Chery is also working on a 1.4 turbo and new small-displacement diesels for export. Price for the Tiggo 5 will start around 100.000 yuan, the cheapest version of the Chery Tiggo 3 will likely continue for another two year or so as a budget alternative, priced around 80.000 yuan.
Note black strip between the rear lights, compare with previous pic. Otherwise all seems to be the same. This might be a top-of-the-line variant.
The Chery Tiggo 5 and the good old Chery Tiggo 3. The spare wheel on the back is no more. Tiggo 5 slightly bigger and more modern, but design more fuzzy with far too many lines going everywhere.
Still, an impressive achievement by Chery. If they can keep the price low enough success seems guaranteed.
Design is disjointed. Disappointing.
What do you thing, will we ever see a tiggo 4WD + AT or CVT?
And do you have information, when they will release FY2 AMT for oversea markets?
Close, but no cigar. Looks more like the redesigned Acura RDX.
