Volkswagen Golf 7 rolls off the line in China

Production of the Volkswagen Golf 7 has officially started in the brand new Volkswagen factory in the city of Foshan in Guangdong Province. A perfectly washed gray example had to honor of being car 0000001, a number that shows Volkswagen has high expectations for the Foshan factory.

The Volkswagen Golf 7 is made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. The Golf 7 will also be manufactured in the existing Volkswagen production base city of Changchun, more than 3000 kilometer to the northeast.

The China-made Volkswagen Golf 7 will debut next week on the Guangzhou Auto Show and it will be launched on the China car market in December.  The Golf 7 will be available with a 105hp 1.6, a 131hp 1.4 TSI, a 150hp variant of the 1.4 TSI, and with a 220hp 2.0 TSI for the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Price will range from 90.000 to 120.000 yuan.
