The Landwind X8 will get a new 2.0 turbo petrol engine. The Landwind X8 2.0T will debut on the Beijing Auto Show in April and launch on the China car market in the second half of this year. The 2.0 turbo has an output of 190hp and 250nm, the engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual.

The Landwind X8 is currently available with 133hp 2.0 and 160hp 2.4 liter petrol engines and a 122hp 2.0 turbodiesel. The new 2.0 turbo petrol will be positioned on top of the X8 range. Price will start around 150.000 for the 4×2 variant and around 160.000 for the 4×4. The new 2.0 turbo is good for sales but an automatic gearbox would help even more. Landwind has a 6-speed automatic and is working on a high-tech 8-speed automatic, but these transmissions apparently won’t work on the X8.
