The new Kia Shuma has been launched on the China car market. Price starts at 179.800 yuan and ends at 226.800 yuan ($29.300 – 37.000). Happily, the Korean brand still knows how to launch a a new sporty car; with babes! The Kia Shuma, aka Kia K4 Koup, is one of the very few small sports cars on offer in China.
When the girls were gone a bunch of men entered the stage, all wearing dark suits, white shirts, and blue or red ties. The Kia Shuma is available with two petrol engines: a 2.0 liter four-cylinder with 173hp and a screaming 1.6 turbo with 201hp, both mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
The small sport car segment is starting to boom in China, in a time when more youngsters have the cash to show they are young indeed. MG, Volkswagen, and Mazda are all rumored to be working on affordable 2-door coupes, and Kia too is said to have plans for local production of the Shuma which would bring price down by about 20%, and that would certainly lead to more sales.
The Shuma Koup is sold as “K3 Koup” in South Korea, “Cerato Koup” in Russia and South America, and “Forte Koup” in North America.
