New Skoda Octavia hits the China car market
The third generation Skoda Octavia has been launched on the China car market, giving Skoda an up to date entry in the crucial compact-sedan segment. Price starts at 119.900 yuan and ends at 179.900 yuan, and that is slightly cheaper than the previous Octavia.
The Skoda Octavia is manufactured in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture that also makes various other Skoda’s and Volkswagens for the Chinese auto market. The Octavia is an important car for Skoda as it is the brand’s best seller.
Power comes from two four-cylinder petrol engines: a 1.6 with 110hp mated to a 5-speed manual, or a 1.4 TSI with 150hp mated to a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG. The Octavia is based on the Volkswagen MQB platform.
