Zotye surprised on the Shanghai Auto Show with this new T500 SUV. It looks rather good for a Zotye and it isn’t really a copy of anything, which is even better. But the T500 is yet another SUV in the already over-crowded lineup, where it will fit just under the Zotye T600.
Nice profile with a short front overhang and a floating roof.
Power will come from the usual 1.5 turbo with 150 horses and 195nm, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
Price will start around 70.000 yuan and end around 100.000 yuan, positioning the T500 straight up against many other Zotye SUVs like the Damai X5, the SR7, and even the T600 itself, which starts at 79.800 yuan. Poor Zotye dealers; how to explain all that to a customer?

The grille looks great, although the shape of it looks a tad too much like a Ford grille. Still, the T500 is an improvement over previous design. May there be more. There sure will be more. We bet Zotye will soon release a sporty S version, a coupe version, and a luxury version, and probably a separate Damai version.
