Spy Shots showing the Volkswagen Golf Sportvan Cross testing in China, getting ready for its launch on the Chinese auto market later this year. The transformation from Sportsvan to Sportsvan Cross seems to be a pretty easy one; black plastic around the wheel arches and … well, nothing else.

Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan

The base Sportvan, made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. Price starts at 131.900 yuan and ends at 197.900 yuan. Engines: 110hp 1.6, 110hp 1.2 turbo, 131 1.4 turbo, and a 150hp 1.4 turbo. The Sportsvan Cross will be available with all these engines too. Price will be up by about 5000 yuan across the range.

Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan Cross

The name is not yet totally sure. Volkswagen China has a habit of using the word cross in front of the vehicle’s name, like with the Cross Lavida. So this new car might as well be called the Cross Sportvan.
