2023 BYD Han DM model spied in China with 170 km range

This is the 2023 BYD Han DM electric sedan, also known as the Champion Edition, spied on the streets in China. It is expected to officially launch later in June. Reservations are already open. DM (dual motor) is the name of BYD’s hybrid power system and is available in DM-i & DM-p.

According to the order receipt shared by a customer, the pre-sale price may be around 207,800 RMB (30,000 USD), which is 10,000 RMB cheaper than the current model.

In terms of appearance, the body continues to adopt a fastback shape. The hidden door handles and chrome-plated trim decorations around the windows are not absent. Additionally, BYD added a new Glacier Blue color for the new version, the same as the 2023 BYD Han EV. Furthermore, the 2023 BYD Han DM configurations are expected to be in line with that of the 2023 BYD Han EV.

In terms of power, according to the declaration information, the pure electric cruising range of both the 2023 Han DM-i/DM-p is 170 km. The new Han DM-i power system will continue to be equipped with a 1.5T engine and a motor that outputs 160 kW and 325 Nm, the same as the 2022 model. The new Han DM-p will be equipped with a 1.5T engine and dual motors. The motor powers are 160kW and 200kW, and the peak torques are 325 Nm and 350 Nm, respectively, consistent with the 2022 model.

For reference, the 2022 Han DM-i has a pure electric cruising range of 242 km, a fuel consumption per 100 km is as low as 4.2 L, and a comprehensive battery life of up to 1300 km. The 2022 Han DM-p only needs 3.7 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km, has a pure electric cruising range of 202 km, and a fuel consumption per 100 km is 5.2 L.

The interior of the 2023 model should remain unchanged with a dual-color cockpit equipped with a large floating central control screen.
