On June 16, SAIC released the official images of its upcoming Roewe D7 mid-to-high-end pure electric sedan. The D7 is the first model under the Roewe brand’s “D” new energy product series and is expected to launch this year, as a part of SAIC’s “Three-Year Action Plan for New Energy Vehicle Development” released on April 18. Under this plan, in the next three years, 8 heavyweight new energy models will be launched, including sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, covering the compact, mid-size, and large vehicle market segments.

In terms of appearance, Roewe D7 adopts a typical pure electric vehicle design with its slender headlights and closed grille design. The Roewe logo is displayed at the center. The lower face is suspected to be equipped with lidars.

From the side, Roewe D7 comes with hidden door handles. In the rear, the slender taillights and the slightly raised ducktail design further enhance the sportiness of the car. The Roewe Logo is also replaced by the letters. Built based on SAIC’s Nebula platform, the dimensions of the Roewe D7 are 4890/1872/1510mm, the wheelbase is 2810mm, and the total volume of the front and rear trunks reaches 447L. According to Roewe, adults with a height of 1.8m can get 116mm of knee space sitting in the second row.

In addition, Roewe D7 is equipped with a sunroof, side rear radar, side front radar, rear radar, and front radar. In terms of power, Roewe D7 previously declared two powertrain options, both of which only come with a single motor. The maximum power of the motor is 145 kW and 155 kW; and matched with lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium batteries, respectively. The corresponding CLTC comprehensive cruising range is 510 km and 610 km. The top speed is 170 km/hr.

At this time, the interior detail has not been announced yet. We’ll continue to watch for more information.
