A few days ago, the Denza N8, a brand-new SUV under BYD’s high-end brand made its debut in China. The N8 will be available in two versions: BEV and PHEV, and its positioning may be lower than the Denza N7.

Overall, the Denza N8 is based on BYD’s “π-Motion” design language. The front face has fang-style daytime running lights on both sides, which are eye-catching. The rear has a relatively large spoiler, through-type taillights, and an anti-scratch plate at the bottom.

The BEV version adopts a closed grille design, while the PHEV version is equipped with a banner-shaped grille.

As a medium-to-large SUV, the Denza N8 measures 4949/1950/1725mm, and the wheelbase is 2830mm. From the side, the roof is slightly curved, and the blackened pillars create a suspended effect. The door handle adopts a conventional design, instead of the popular pop-out design.

According to the previous declaration information on the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the PHEV version will be powered by a 102 kW 1.5T engine. More specifically, the DM-i model will be equipped with a 160 kW motor while the DM-p model will be equipped with a 160 kW front and 200 kW rear motor. In addition, the BEV version will be powered by a 230 kW front motor for the two-wheel drive model and a 230 kW front and 200 kW rear motor for the four-wheel drive model.

Inside, the interior has a 15.6-inch touch screen, a double-spoke flat-bottom multifunctional steering wheel, and a floating full LCD instrument panel. Additionally, the sound system comes from Dynaudio speakers.

Two large wireless charging panels are provided in front of the crystal-shaped monostable gear shifter, and the air-conditioning outlet adopts a circular design.

The Denza N8 offers three seat configurations for consumers to choose from: five-, six-, or seven-seaters.

Furthermore, passengers in the rear rows have access to tray tables. There is also an LCD touchscreen to control air conditioning for the rear rows. The large sunroof that is equipped with a sunshade curtain can be opened.

Once launched, the Denza N8 will directly compete with models such as Li Auto’s L8 and Wey’s Lanshan DHT-PHEV. As another new SUV from BYD, I am eager to see what other surprises will the Denza N8 brings.
