BYD’s Denza N8 SUV launched with 1,030 km range, price starts at 44,600 USD

Today, August 5, 2023, Denza launched its N8 SUV in China with a price range of 319,800 – 326,800 yuan (44,600 – 45,500 USD), powered by BYD’s DM hybrid system. The N8 is the second model under the Denza N series, after the N7. Let’s check it out!

The Denza N8 is designed based on BYD’s “π-Motion” design language and is a replacement model for the Denza X. As a medium-to-large SUV, the car measures 4949/1950/1725mm, and the wheelbase is 2830mm. The front face has fang-style daytime running lights on both sides, which are eye-catching. The rear has a relatively large spoiler, through-type taillights, and an anti-scratch plate at the bottom.

In terms of safety, Denza N8 offers level 2+ advanced driving assistance functions such as forward collision and rear collision warnings that are supported by a total of 24 sensors, including five millimeter wave radars, six cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars.

The powertrain comes from BYD’s DM hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and dual front + rear motors. The engine outputs 102 kW and 231 Nm. The combined power of the motors is 360 kW. Its top speed is 190 km/h with an 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time of 4.3 seconds. Its comprehensive fuel consumption is 6.45L/100km (four-wheel drive) and power consumption is 18.2 kWh/100km. The car is also equipped with BYD’s Cloud Chariot-C intelligent body control system, which adds additional off-road capabilities, according to the brand.

In addition, the Denza N8 is powered by BYD’s Blade battery pack with a capacity of 45.8 kWh, offering a pure electric cruising range (NEDC) of 216 km and a comprehensive cruising range of 1,030 km. Both slow and fast chargings (90 kW) are supported. Furthermore, the car comes standard with a VtoL mobile power station that supports power up to 6 kW, in which the vehicle is used as a mobile electricity supply to power items such as household appliances.

Inside, the interior is clean and simple with a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control touch screen, a double-spoke flat-bottom multifunctional steering wheel, a 12.3-inch floating full LCD instrument panel, and a 12-inch head-up display. The cockpit is supported by the Denza Link 5G system. Additionally, the sound system comes from Dynaudio speakers.

Denza N8 offers 5/6/7-seater versions for consumers to choose from.

Furthermore, passengers in the rear rows have access to tray tables. There is also an LCD touchscreen to control air conditioning for the rear rows. The large sunroof that is equipped with a sunshade curtain can also be opened.
