On March 20, Hongqi New Energy officially launched its EH7 sedan with a price range of 229,800 – 309,800 yuan (31,900 – 43,000 USD). Consumers can choose from five models. The new car is the first model of the new energy sub-brand under Hongqi. In the future, there will also be battery-swap and long-range fast-charge variants with up to 800 km range.
The Hongqi EH7 is based on the FMEs architecture. The brand claims that the front face resembles a smiling expression, conveying the optimistic attitude of the brand.
Positioned as a medium-to-large sedan, the Hongqi EH7 measures 4980/1915/1490 mm, and the wheelbase is 3000mm. The car adopts a dual color design with a black roof.
Its 1.96㎡ panoramic sunroof brings in plenty of natural light.
The Hongqi EH7 is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. The ternary lithium battery packs are supplied by CATL. The 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is as fast as 3.5 seconds.

Under fast charging, it takes 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% at room temperature, and 17 minutes from 30% to 80%. At a low temperature of -10°C, the shortest charging time from 10% to 80% is 38 minutes, and at a low temperature of 20°C, the charging time from 10% to ~80% is 48 minutes.
Inside, the irregular shaped dual screen composed of a 6-inch LCD instrument panel and a 15.5-inch central control screen is eye-catching, combined with the double-spoke flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel. An AR HUD (head-up display) is also not absent. The vehicle operating system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.
Other configurations include 256-color ambient lights, which are distributed on central console, door trim, and other places throughout the cockpit.
