The Exlantix ET: Chery’s latest flagship SUV starting at 27,000 USD

Chery’s Exeed brand commenced pre-sales of its Exlantix ET model, known as the Sterra ET in the Chinese market, on April 15th. It was announced last month that this model would begin sales in April. This medium-to-large SUV is built on Chery’s E0X high-end electric platform and offers both a pure electric version and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version (see price specs below).

The Exlantix ET has dimensions of 4955/1975/1698 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. Its exterior design features a closed grille, through-type headlights and taillights, and pop-out door handles, which have become increasingly popular among electric vehicles.

Inside the cabin, a large 15.6-inch central control screen integrates various modes, including baby, pet, and karaoke modes. The vehicle offers a range of luxurious and comfortable features, such as zero-gravity seats, seat ventilation, heating, and massage functions. It also includes a 23-speaker Lion Melody Max audio system, a 2.38㎡ sunroof, and a self-developed health monitoring system capable of real-time monitoring of passengers’ heart rate, blood pressure, and other health data.

The Exlantix ET is equipped with dual front and rear electric motors, providing a maximum power output of 183 kW for the front motor and 230 kW for the rear motor. It achieves an impressive acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.46 seconds. The vehicle’s battery pack utilizes CATL’s new LFP 2.0 Shenxing battery, making it the first mass-produced car to adopt this technology. In extreme cold conditions of -20 °C (-4°F) during testing in Inner Mongolia, the car charged from 20% to 80% in just 24 minutes. Under normal conditions at 25°C (77°F), the vehicle can replenish 400 km of range in 10 minutes.

Safety and advanced driving assistance capabilities are also prominent features of the Exlantix ET. It is equipped with 30 sensors and two Orin-X chips from NVIDIA, providing driving assistance for urban and highway scenarios. The vehicle supports features such as high-speed cruising assistance, urban cruising assistance, and a parking asisst function.

The Exlantix ET offers a range of models and pricing options for consumers in China. The pure electric (BEV) series includes the Pro priced at 239,000 yuan (32,900 USD), the Pro four-wheel drive priced at 249,000 yuan (34,300 USD), the Pro City Smart Drive priced at 259,000 yuan (35,700 USD), the Max priced at 289,000 yuan (39,800 USD), and the Ultra priced at 329,000 yuan (45,300 USD). The extended-range electric series includes the Plus, priced at 199,000 yuan (27,000 USD), the Pro, priced at 219,000 yuan (30,200 USD), and the Pro+, priced at 239,000 yuan (32,900 USD).
