On September 14, Chery opened the pre-sale of its 2025 Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 C-DM SUVs, available in three trims starting from 155,900 yuan (22,000 USD) and two trims starting from 169,900 yuan (24,000 USD), respectively. As the flagship SUV model of the Tiggo series, the 2025 Tiggo 9 has been upgraded in terms of appearance and configuration. The official launch will be on September 25.
The Chery Tiggo 9 C-DM is a new plug-in hybrid variant of the Tiggo 9 series.
2025 Chery Tiggo 9
The car adopts the “soft light aesthetics” design language, featuring a hexagonal grille, through-type lights, and multi-spoke rims. It is worth pointing out that the lower front section has a design change. The size of the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 remains unchanged compared to the 2024 model: 4820/1930/1699 (1710) mm, and a 2820 mm wheelbase.
Power still comes from a 2.0T engine mated to a 7DCT or an Aisin 8AT. The 2.0T engine outputs 192 kW (257 hp) and 400 Nm. Three driving modes are supported: economy, standard, and sport. All trims are front-wheel drive.
Inside, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 continues to be equipped with a D-shaped multi-function steering wheel, the instrument panel and the central control screen adopt a dual-screen form, and the built-in system is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Both 2+3 five-seater and 2+3+2 seven-seater cabin layouts are available to choose from.
Other configurations include an openable panoramic sunroof, an electric tailgate, rain-sensing automatic wipers, six-way electric adjustment of the driver seat/four-way electric adjustment of the co-pilot seat, heated front seats, a reversing radar, advanced driving assistance functions, Huawei HiCar & Apple CarPlay, 50 W wireless charging, ambient lightings, remote control, eight speakers, and an AI model for cockpit interaction.
Chery Tiggo 9 C-DM
The appearance of the Tiggo 9 C-DM is the same as that of the 2025 Tiggo 9. The only difference is the addition of two new green-shaded exterior paints and the C-DM tail label to imdicate the car’s identity. Its body size is 4820/1930/1712 mm, and the wheelbase is 2820 mm, which is slightly taller than the 2025 Tiggo 9.
Power comes from Chery’s Kunpeng Super Performance Electric Hybrid C-DM system composed of a 1.5T hybrid engine and a front electric motor, mated to a 3-speed DHT. The ternary lithium battery pack has a 19.43 kWh capacity. The engine outputs 115 kW (154 hp)/220 Nm while the motor outputs 165 kW (221 hp)/390 Nm. The 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 8.8 seconds, the CLTC pure electric range is 106 km, and the WLTC comprehensive range under a full tank and full charge is more than 1,400 km officially. Under fast charging, it takes 25 mins to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%; and takes 3.5 hours under slow charging.
Additionally, a standard 6.6 kW VtoL mobile power station function is also present.
