The forthcoming flagship SUV from Lynk & Co has been spotted testing once again. This time, we also get a glimpse of the interior of the car, which is currently only known by its L946 codename. Sales are expected to commence before the end of the third quarter of 2025, with a possible debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April.

The new model is expected to be a plug-in hybrid and is believed to benchmark against the Denza N9, Li L9, and Aito M9. It uses the Evo version of Volvo’s scalable product architecture (SPA), which also underpins cars such as the Volvo XC90, Volvo EX90, and Polestar 3.

The latest picture still showed the car heavily camouflaged. However, it looks as if the L946 should have quite an imposing vertical grille. It also seems that the car is a quite boxy SUV. At the rear, there is a spoiler that finishes off the roof line.

As previously suspected, the L946 is indeed a three-row SUV. Both six and seven-seat versions are expected to be offered. The interior shots indicate that the interior is still very much work in progress. The seats are quite wide with a diamond pattern, but they may simply be temporary seats being used for testing. In the second row, it’s clear that there are individual seats rather than a rear bench. This could indicate that the car spied is the six-seat version.

As with the previous spy shots, the car is equipped with Lidar. The L946 features unusual-looking 10-spoke wheels and frameless side-view mirrors.

As a flagship, the new car will be larger than the Lynk & Co 09 EM-P (see specs), which has dimensions of 5042, 1977, and 1780 mm (l/w/h) and a wheelbase of 2984 mm. The new car will most likely be closer in length to 5.2 meters.

Powertrain will either be the same as or more powerful than that of the Lynk & Co 09 EM-P. The 09 EM-P uses a 2.0T engine with 187 kW of power and two electric motors with a total of 256 kW of power for a system total of 408 kW.

Lynk & Co, a brand jointly owned by Volvo and Geely, in recent years has been rapidly electrifying its range. Initially this meant PHEV versions of existing models but the latest models have been launched either as PHEV only or beginning this year with the Z10 as all-electric.

There has been confusion over the positioning of the Lynk & Co brand versus Zeekr. It was initially thought Lynk & Co would only be PHEV and Zeekr electric. However, Lynk & Co now has two all-electric models and Zeekr is meant to be launching a PHEV next year. According to recent rumors the two brands may merge which certainly save a lot of confusion.
