SAIC Volkswagen officially launched its full-size seven-seater intelligent SUV, the Teramont Pro, on March 10 with prices ranging from 269,900 to 319,900 yuan (37,500-44,500 USD).

The Teramont Pro is equipped with Volkswagen’s fifth-generation EA888 2.0T engine paired with a DQ501 seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, delivering a maximum power output of 200kW and peak torque of 400N·m. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds while achieving a remarkably low WLTC combined fuel consumption of 8.35L/100km.

There are some major technological innovations including a variable geometry turbocharger (VTG) and a 500-bar high-pressure fuel system, the new vehicle not only delivers powerful performance but also meets the stringent Euro 7 emission standards.

The Teramont Pro debuts Volkswagen’s new-generation IQ.Pilot intelligent driving system, supporting features such as adaptive cruise control, lever-activated lane change, and automatic obstacle avoidance, complemented by the IQ.Drive parking assistant (including remote parking capability).

The interior features a six-screen integrated intelligent cockpit with dual AI voice engines (DeepSeek + Wenxin Yiyan) enabling multi-round natural conversations for more efficient interaction.

The Teramont Pro boasts hefty dimensions of 5158×1991×1788mm with a wheelbase of 2980mm. Its three-row, seven-seat layout supports electric folding, allowing one-touch conversion to five-seat mode, expanding the trunk capacity from 286L to 2427L.

All seats come standard with heating and ventilation functions, while the driver’s seat features pneumatic massage capability, and the front passenger seat offers a “semi-reclined mode,” providing first-class comfort for long journeys.

According to China EV DataTracker, SAIC Volkswagen sold 54,377 units of Teramont SUV last year. Its Pro variant will aim to make a further sales boost as the competition in the Chinese large SUV market intensifies.
