On March 11, Great Wall Motor (GWM) officially unveiled its second-generation Haval Xiaolong Max plug-in hybrid SUV, adopting a brand-new exterior and equipping GWM’s self-developed Coffee Pilot Plus driving assistance system.
Taking a look at the exterior, the second-generation Haval Xiaolong Max utilized the “rhythmic natural aesthetics” design concept, according to the official. The headlights consist of 72 LED crystals, which have a luminosity of 4,000 lumens and an illumination distance of 190 meters.
Consumers will be able to choose from five body colors, namely, Aurora Green, Distant Mountain Gray, Canglang Blue, Ice Crystal White, and Phantom Night Black.
In the rear, GWM claims the “Bright Galaxy” taillight is inspired by the Milky Way and carved with more than 30,000 crystal reflective surfaces and consists of 332 628 nm super red light LEDs.
From the side, the popular floating roof design is present and the car runs on new 19-inch five-spoke petal-shaped rims inspired by flowers. At the same time, the convention door handles are retained. The second-generation Haval Xiaolong Max measures 4780/1895/1725 mm in length, width, and height, and the wheelbase is 2810 mm.
Additionally, intelligent driving is one of the highlights of the new car, which is realized via a pure vision solution through the Cofee Pilot Plus system, supporting urban and high-speed navigation on autopilot as well as indoor and outdoor memory parking assist.
Moving to the interior, consumers will be able to choose from three colors: white, brown, and black.
The cockpit is powered by the Coffee OS 3 – the third-generation intelligent cockpit system self-developed GWM. There is a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch central control screen, an AR HUD, and a flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel. The center console has a series of physical buttons for function controls, cup holders, and a wireless charging panel.
The driver seat supports 12-way electric adjustment while the co-pilot seat supports 4-way electric adjustment. Both front seats are also equipped with ventilation and massage functions while all seats come with seat heating. The rear seat backrest angle is adjustable at 27° and 32°.
Furthermore, the second-generation Haval Xiaolong Max is powered by either a 1.5L Hi4 or 1.5T Hi4 plug-in hybrid system. In particular, the maximum power of the 1.5L engine is 85 kW (114 hp) and the maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 115 kW (154 hp). According to the declared information, the 1.5 Hi4 version is matched with a 27.54 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 126 km. At this time, the official electric motor parameters and comprehensive range info have not been announced.
