Recently, the Chinese MIIT revealed that BYD’s upcoming Seal 06 EV has 470 km and 545 km cruising ranges (CLTC), powered by 46.08 kWh and 56.6 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate batteries, respectively. The battery weight is 350 kg and 410 kg, bringing the vehicle curb weight to 1670 kg and 1800 kg, respectively.

Two power options will be offered. The high-power version outputs 160 kW (215 hp) while the low-power version outputs 110 kW (148 hp). The top speed is 160 km/h. Positioned as a pure electric mid-size sedan, the BYD Seal 06 EV has a length, width, and height of 4720/1880/1495 mm and a wheelbase of 2820 mm. Compared with the Seal 06 GT, the new car is 90 mm longer and 5 mm taller.

It is worth pointing out that the Seal 06 EV has the same body dimensions, battery specs, and ranges as the Qin L EV, indicating that both vehicles are built based on the same platform.

The overall design of the Seal 06 EV continues BYD’s “ocean aesthetics” design concept, featuring a closed front grille paired with a lower trapezoidal grille, sharp headlights, a sharp nose, semi-hidden door handles, and through-type “Chinese knot” taillights. One of the biggest differences from the Seal 06 DM-i plug-in hybrid variant is the new BYD logo, replacing the previous Build Your Dream slogan.

Furthermore, the Seal 06 EV is expected to come with BYD’s “God’s Eye” C intelligent driving system (also known as the DiPilot 100). The front windshield is equipped with three cameras, and cameras are added to the front fenders and rear roof spoiler.

Currently, BYD’s Seal 06 series has four models on the market, namely, the Seal 06 DM-i and Seal 06 GT, along with their respective intelligent driving edition variants.
