Previously, Huawei was in a legal battle against a car influencer over the Meaxtro S800. Recently, Huawei has been accused of sending a man to physically stop its Luxeed S7 owner from entering the Regional Consumer Rights Ally in Hangzhou. “The 2025 Problematic Auto Show” is held by regional televisions and media to defend customers’ rights against large corporations.

The video showed that while driving into the ally, there was a man in a black jacket already waiting by the entrance. As soon as he spotted the Luxeed S7 driving by, he quickly tried to get into the front side of the car and try to stop it. However, this action was stopped by the ally security. The mysterious man later took a picture of the plate and then left. This kind of ally has a long history of similar actions by automakers. Last year, Geely was accused of robbing paperwork from the owner to avoid being shown to the media.

Later, the owner got into the Ally and received coverage by News918, the media host of the Ally. In the interview, he complained about how the front camera is often fogged in rainy or slightly colder weather. and it would make Huawei’s ADS autonomous driving stop or accelerate suddenly, which could be a significant risk on the road. Especially when he drives to his hometown, which is located in the northern part of China, where the weather is colder than in Hangzhou.

Moreover, in February, one of the S7 owners in Suzhou ( which is very close to Hangzhou) claimed that the car crashed into the side of the road while in Huawei’s ADS autonomous driving mode. He said the car took an unexpected turn while driving in a straight line at a 70km/h speed. Even though he was trying to take control, it was too late. The accident will cost him around 240K USD. Huawei has responded that according to the backend data. The gas pedal was hit by the owners before the crash, so they are not responsible for this accident.

March 15 is World Consumer Rights Day, and it is a practice in China for media to report products or brands that have significant design flaws and violate customers’ rights. The stated sponsored official event did not report on any car brands this year.

However, regional television channels and media hosted “problematic auto shows” in other cities, such as Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Xi’an, and Nanjing (Nanjing canceled this year’s show a day before the event for unknown reasons) to expose products causing actual problems for users. These events are often disturbed by automaker’s PR departments or dealerships nearby.
