Denza’s sales division head Zhao Changjiang has provided an update on the delivery schedule for the company’s flagship N9 SUV, addressing recent customer inquiries about wait times. According to the announcement made on April 9, customers who ordered the standard configuration can expect delivery within 3-4 weeks, while those who selected special equipment packages will receive their vehicles in stages between May and June.

Specific delivery timelines vary by configuration: vehicles with the optional ceiling screen will be delivered in June, those with electric doors will arrive in May, and units equipped with the drone system are scheduled for June delivery.

The Denza N9, officially launched at a starting price of 389,800 yuan (53,800 USD), is a premium six-seat SUV in the competitive 400,000 yuan (55,000 USD) market segment. It comes in two variants: the 389,800 yuan (53,800 USD) Prestige model and the 449,800 yuan (61,500 USD) Flagship edition.

With dimensions of 5,258/2,030/1,830 mm in l/w/h and a wheelbase of 3,125mm, the N9 slightly exceeds the size of competitors like the Aito M9 (5,230/1,999/1,800mm, 3,110mm wheelbase). The spacious interior accommodates six passengers across three rows of seats, with particular attention paid to third-row comfort.

The N9 features a range of premium amenities, including zero-gravity seats in the front passenger position, “Air SPA” adjustable second-row seats with 14-way power adjustment, ceiling display options, and integrated tables. A dual-compartment refrigerator with 11L capacity serves both front and second-row passengers, capable of cooling to -6°C or heating to 50°C.

Third-row seating, often an afterthought in many SUVs, receives special treatment in the N9. It has six-way power adjustment, including height settings, to accommodate passengers of various statures. Despite the generous passenger space, the vehicle maintains 520L of cargo capacity even when fully loaded.

The technology package includes BYD’s proprietary systems with triple-motor independent drive, rear-wheel independent steering, and vehicle motion control. The powertrain delivers a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds, while achieving a CLTC combined range of 1,302 km with fuel consumption of 6.3L/100km under NEDC standards and over 200 km of pure electric range.

The N9’s triple-motor configuration enables a remarkably tight turning radius of 4.65 meters despite its large dimensions, while the “compass” turning feature allows the vehicle to rotate 360° around either front wheel in extremely tight spaces. The air suspension system provides up to 222mm of ground clearance for off-road capability.

The N9 employs a sensor suite for advanced driver assistance, including one LiDAR unit, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 cameras among its 32 multi-format sensors, enabling city navigation and automated parking features at launch.

The Flagship edition adds premium features such as a 17.3-inch ceiling screen, streaming rearview mirror, zero-gravity front passenger seat, second-row power leg rests, side window shades, and a 26-speaker Devialet sound system.

With its combination of space, technology and premium features, the Denza N9 aims to establish itself as a significant competitor in China’s increasingly crowded luxury SUV market.
