The BYD Sealion 07 DM-i, a new plug-in hybrid SUV from the company’s Ocean series, will officially launch on May 8. Positioned as a mid-to-large-size SUV, it is currently available for pre-sale with prices ranging from 189,800 to 229,800 yuan (approximately 26,100 – 31,611 USD). Promotional offers include financing incentives and trade-in subsidies of up to 15,000 yuan.
The Sealion 07 DM-i adopts BYD’s “Ocean Aesthetics” design, featuring e-shaped LED headlights connected by a light strip, black and silver trim on the bumper, and side vents. Its profile includes rounded lines, two-tone alloy wheels, and a distinctive D-pillar. At the rear, a full-width light bar and contrasting trim elements complete the design. The SUV measures 4,880 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,750 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.
Inside, the vehicle features a symmetrical dashboard design described by BYD as “Glacier World.” A black panel spans the cabin, incorporating a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen. The infotainment system is BYD’s DiLink 100, which supports AI voice interaction and is powered by the DeepSeek AI model.
An optional drone system developed with DJI, Lingyuan BYD Intelligent Drone System, allows for automated drone functions such as takeoff, tracking, and return, controlled via an in-car app.
The vehicle also supports advanced driver assistance functions through two configurations: DiPilot 300, which includes LiDAR, and DiPilot 100, which uses a triple-camera setup. Features include city and highway navigation, traffic light recognition, obstacle avoidance, and automatic parking.
The Sealion 07 DM-i is built on BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid platform. The base model uses a 1.5T turbocharged engine (115 kW) paired with a 200 kW front electric motor. It offers a combined range of up to 1,320 km and a pure electric CLTC range of 150 km. A higher-spec DM-p version adds a second electric motor for all-wheel drive, increasing total output to 350 kW (469 hp) and reducing the 0-100 km/h time to 4.7 seconds. This variant provides a 135 km EV-only range.
