A champion’s ride: world snooker history-maker Zhao Xintong’s custom Zeekr 009 revealed
Zhao Xintong has made history by becoming the first Chinese and first Asian player to win the World Snooker Championship, defeating Mark Williams 18-12 in the final on May 6, 2025. This monumental achievement has brought significant attention not only to his sporting prowess but also to his unique vehicle: a customized Zeekr 009 MPV.
Following his victory, images of Zhao Xintong’s Zeekr 009 surfaced, showcasing a distinctive design tailored to the snooker star. The vehicle features a striking black and green two-tone paint scheme adorned with exclusive “147” (highest possible score in a snooker game) graphics, snooker balls, and a cartoon image of Zhao himself. This personalized livery is described as being highly consistent with Zhao Xintong’s personal image.
The Zeekr 009 is an all-electric MPV from Zeekr, a high-end EV brand under the Geely Group. It is built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform. The 009 is powered by a dual-motor drivetrain, with each motor producing 272 hp, resulting in a combined output of 534 hp. Zeekr claims a top speed of 190 km/h (approximately 118 mph) and a range of 700 kilometers (NEDC), utilizing a 100 kWh battery pack. The vehicle measures 5209/2024/1856mm in l/w/h, with a 3205mm wheelbase and a curb weight of 2830 kg. It typically offers a six-seat configuration.
Last year, the 4-seat Zeekr 009 Grand was launched in China with 580 kW (777 hp), 702 km of range, and a starting price of 789,000 yuan (109,000 USD). Last month, positioned as “the most luxurious MPV made in China”, the Zeekr 009 Grand Collector Edition all-electric MPV officially entered the market priced at 899,000 yuan (123,200 USD) and is positioned above the Grand Edition, with gold decorative parts added to the exterior and interior.
