XPeng has officially launched the top-spec MONA M03 Max. According to Xpeng, the MONA series recorded over 12,566 locked-in orders within one hour of its release. Of these, 83% were for the Max variant and 17% for the Plus variant. The strong early interest reflects the demand for advanced driver assistance features in electric vehicles priced below 150,000 yuan (around 20,800 USD).

The MONA M03 Max was previously listed at a presale price of 155,800 yuan (approximately $21,500). The final pricing now starts at 129,800 yuan (around $17,900) for the 502 km Long Range Max version. The 600 km Ultra-Long Range Max is priced at 139,800 yuan (approximately $19,300), representing a reduction of up to 26,000 yuan (about 3,600 USD) compared to the presale.

XPeng also introduced two Plus variants: the 515 km Long Range Plus, priced at 119,800 yuan (approximately $16,500), and the 620 km Ultra-Long Range Plus, priced the same as the 502 km Max version, at 129,800 yuan. Despite the wider selection, most buyers opted for the Max variants during the first hour.

The Max variants add new paint colours—stardust purple, pale moon grey, and star rain cyan—bringing the total to six exterior options. More than 50 official wrap designs are also available. Design elements include a T-shaped headlamp setup, an active front grille, flush door handles, and 18—or 19-inch aerodynamic wheels.

The Max features a purple interior and upgraded hardware. It has dual Nvidia Orin chips, three millimetre-wave radars, and 12 external cameras. A blue front fascia light distinguishes the Max models.

According to XPeng, the MONA M03 Max is the only vehicle under 200,000 yuan (around 27,800 USD) that offers urban and highway-assisted driving functions. These include NGP for city and highway use, real-time city navigation without preloaded maps, low-clearance parking (requiring just 30 cm of space), and door-opening safety alerts. The system runs on a 508 TOPS computing platform, supported by an end-to-end AI model.

The 502 km Max is powered by a 140 kW motor delivering 225 Nm of torque, while the 600 km variant uses a 160 kW motor with 250 Nm. Both models use LFP batteries—51.8 kWh and 62.2 kWh, respectively—and are front-wheel drive.

During the launch event, XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng stated that the MONA series will be offered globally, with future models supporting both left- and right-hand drive and EV and EREV powertrains. He indicated the company’s aim to shift focus from price competition to technology development and long-term market expansion.
