BYD officially announced that the all-electric Seal 06 EV will launch at the upcoming Chongqing Auto Show, opening on June 7. Built on the advanced e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the new model promises improvements across aesthetics, driving dynamics, comfort, and safety.

The Seal 06 EV continues BYD’s “ocean aesthetics” design philosophy, introducing a closed front grille with sharp, narrow headlights and a trapezoidal lower intake. L-shaped accents on the front bumper further enhance its sporty appearance. The profile features a hatchback-like silhouette, flush door handles, and a floating roof design. The upward-sloping waistline and smooth curves contribute to a dynamic stance. At the rear, a full-width taillight cluster with smoked lenses and diffuser-style trim emphasises the EV’s athletic styling.

Inside, the Seal 06 EV adopts BYD’s familiar family layout. A rotatable floating centre screen and integrated front seats dominate the cabin, while the central console includes a start button and a wireless charging pad. The design prioritises user-friendly interaction and brand identity.

According to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Seal 06 EV will be offered in two battery configurations: a 46.08 kWh pack for a 470 km CLTC range and a 56.6 kWh pack for a 545 km range. The battery weights are 350 kg and 410 kg, respectively, contributing to total vehicle curb weights of 1,670 kg and 1,800 kg. Two single-motor powertrains will be available: a 110 kW (148 hp) version and a 160 kW (215 hp) version, with a 160 km/h top speed.

The vehicle measures 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. This makes it 90 mm longer and 5 mm taller than the plug-in hybrid Seal 06 GT. Its dimensions and performance figures closely match those of the Qin L EV, suggesting both models share a common platform.

A notable update is the new BYD logo on the Seal 06 EV, replacing the previous “Build Your Dreams” script. The car is also expected to feature BYD’s DiPilot 100 intelligent driving suite, known as the “God’s Eye” C system, which includes three front-facing cameras and additional units on the fenders and rear roof spoiler.
