Shangjie, the new automotive brand born from the collaboration between SAIC and Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), today released the first teaser images of its inaugural vehicle. Richard Yu, Huawei’s Executive Director and CEO of Terminal BG, also took to social media to announce, “Shangjie is here! Stay tuned this autumn! Excellent intelligent driving, with a blue light!”

The teaser images show Shangjie’s first model heavily camouflaged, revealing only general design cues. The vehicle adopts the characteristic closed-off front fascia common in new energy vehicles, with an anticipated through-type lighting design. The lower grille also features a through-type design with dynamic black spokes. A prominent feature is the roof-mounted LiDAR unit, which, as Yu hinted with “Excellent intelligent driving, with a blue light,” underscores the vehicle’s advanced intelligent driving assistance capabilities.

While the side profile remains largely obscured, it appears to feature smooth lines. Notably, the vehicle does not incorporate the popular flush door handles seen on many contemporary models, opting instead for traditional handles, contrary to earlier suspected spy shots. The rear design also appears minimalist, expected to echo the front with a through-type taillight cluster.

Beyond the traditional door handles, the vehicle’s intelligent driving suite is a key highlight. The roof-mounted LiDAR is rumoured to be Huawei’s self-developed 192-line unit, complemented by Huawei’s latest 4D millimetre-wave radar. The “intelligent driving blue light” mentioned by Yu is expected to be located on both sides of the front and rear of the vehicle.

The camouflaged model features a LiDAR.

According to Chinese media Mydrivers, given the anticipated price range of 150,000-250,000 yuan (20,700-34,500 USD), it is likely that the LiDAR will not be standard across all trims. Lower and mid-range variants are expected to utilise a vision-centric ADS SE solution.

The model features traditional handles.

The vehicle will feature Huawei’s HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit like other HIMA brands, offering multi-screen interaction, AI large model voice assistant, and vehicle-home connectivity.
