Deepal S05 620km BEV model with CATL’s 3C battery to launch on August 1
Deepal has confirmed the upcoming release of its S05 620km range BEV version, scheduled to launch on August 1. The new model boasts a CLTC range of 620km, representing a 110km increase over the current version while maintaining identical exterior and interior design.
The extended range S05 will continue to utilize CATL batteries and maintain the same charging capabilities of its predecessor, taking just 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% with 3C charging speed. Like the current model, the new vehicle features a single rear-mounted electric motor with rear-wheel drive, delivering maximum power of 175 kW (235 hp) and peak torque of 320Nm. Performance specifications remain unchanged with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 180km/h.
Positioned as a 5-seater compact SUV, the Deepal S05 maintains dimensions of 4620/1900/1600mm (length/width/height) with a wheelbase of 2880mm. The vehicle features a 15.4-inch 2.5K resolution central control screen with Huawei HiCar smartphone connectivity. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 automotive chip, it comes equipped with the Deepal AD PRO driving assistance system.

The S05 adopts an “Interstellar Wing” design language, featuring a closed front grille, protruding dual waistlines, hidden door handles, and low wind resistance wheels. The rear showcases a through-type taillight. Available in five colors (Flow Silver, Stellar Blue, Moonlight White, Vault Black, and Fluorescent Gray), the interior offers three color schemes: Hot Wave Orange, Fog Light Blue, and Star Rock Gray.

Interior amenities include a 15.4-inch “Sunflower” screen, 64-color ambient lighting, a 13L dual-layer insulated armrest box, 35 storage spaces, a 14-speaker surround sound system, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, premium passenger seating, and 50W wireless charging capabilities.
The Deepal S05 is a product of Changan Automobile. On July 29, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was officially established in Chongqing. The new state-owned enterprise, formed from the original Ordnance Equipment Group, has a registered capital of 20 billion yuan (2.75 billion USD) with 117 subsidiaries (including 5 listed companies).
According to the latest data, Changan Automobile sold 235,098 vehicles in June 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.48%. From January to June, Changan’s cumulative sales reached 1,355,256 vehicles, up 1.59% year-on-year. New energy vehicle sales were particularly strong at 451,714 units, showing growth of 49.05% compared to the same period last year.
According to China EV Datatracker, Deepal S05 sold 41,367 units in the first half of 2025.
