Luxeed, a collaboration between Huawei and Chery, unveiled official images of the updated Luxeed R7 SUV. This facelift introduces a new Aurora Green paint option and features a completely redesigned brand logo.

The current pricing for the Luxeed R7 ranges from 249,800 to 339,800 yuan (34,700 to 47200 USD). The most notable changes in this updated model include the introduction of the new brand logo and upgrades to the front light assembly’s decorative elements. The lower side air ducts have been refined, eliminating the previous textured design.

In terms of features, the Luxeed R7 has seen several adjustments. Notable additions include exterior mirrors equipped with microphones, a standard 21-speaker audio system, and a cooling and heating refrigerator.

Powertrain options remain consistent with the current model, offering both pure electric and range-extended systems. The range-extended version is powered by a 156-horsepower 1.5T range extender. The Ultra variant boasts dual motors with a total output of 520 horsepower, while the Max and Pro versions feature a single motor with a total output of 320 horsepower. Depending on the configuration, the vehicle is equipped with either 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh battery packs, providing pure electric ranges of 251 km, 331 km, and 360 km under CLTC conditions. The pure electric models come with 82 kWh and 100 kWh battery options, offering impressive ranges of 667 km, 736 km, and 802 km based on configuration.

As one of the brands under Huawei’s HIMA, Luxeed has not seen strong sales figures. According to data from China EV DataTracker, the Luxeed R7 sold a total of 3,194 units in June 2025. Chery, known as the king of automotive exports in China, is seeking to go public this year (yes, the company has yet to be listed). Since a significant portion of its exports consists of gasoline vehicles, Luxeed carries a heavy responsibility for the company’s transition to new energy. However, its current sales performance clearly falls short of meeting this critical challenge.
