Tesla has launched the Model 3+, known as the Long Range rear-wheel-drive variant, in China. Orders are now open through its official online store. This variant is Tesla’s longest-range model to date, with a CLTC-rated driving range of up to 830 km.

The new version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, compared with 6.1 seconds for the standard rear-wheel-drive Model 3. Pricing starts at 269,500 yuan (approx. 37,950 USD). Current purchase incentives include a limited-time insurance subsidy of 8,000 yuan (approx. 1,125 USD), an 8,000 yuan paint option credit, and interest-free financing for up to five years. Additional benefits include special charging privileges and a limited-time free transfer of the intelligent driving package.

According to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Model 3+ uses a 78.4 kWh ternary NMC battery supplied by LG. The MIIT filing lists two CLTC range values, 830 km and 800 km, depending on configuration. The model appeared in the 20th batch of the “New Energy Vehicle Models Exempt from Vehicle Purchase Tax” list, published on August 7.

Tesla has also updated the Model 3 Performance all-wheel-drive variant. Its CLTC range is now 647 km, an increase from 623 km. The starting price remains 339,500 yuan (approx. 47,850 USD).

MIIT data from July show that the Model 3+ retains the exact exterior dimensions as the current Model 3. It measures 4,720 mm in length, 1,848 mm in width, and 1,442 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,875 mm.

Curb weight is listed at 1,760 kg, and gross vehicle weight at 2,192 kg. Tire sizes are 235/45R18 and 235/40R19. Approach and departure angles are 13 degrees and 12 degrees.

The car is powered by a 225 kW rear-mounted electric motor, producing 302 horsepower. This is a 31 kW increase over the standard rear-wheel-drive Model 3’s 194 kW motor, the motor type changes from 3D7 to 3D6. Top speed is listed at 200 km/h.
