Geely’s Livan Smurf debuts: a new 5,000 USD micro EV with 40 hp and 100 kph top speed
Geely‘s Livan Auto has officially unveiled the first images of its brand-new micro electric vehicle, the Livan Smurf. Positioned as a compact urban EV, the Livan Smurf features a single-motor powertrain and is equipped with a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, aiming to compete in the same segment as the popular Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, Chery QQ Icecream and Bestune Pony.
The Livan Smurf boasts a compact and endearing “small boxy” design. Its front fascia is characterised by a narrow, closed-off grille complemented by “Forest Spirit Eye” headlights, giving it an overall cute appearance. The “big eyes” are paired with a silver front bumper, creating a visual “smiling” effect. The charging port is centrally located on the front of the vehicle.
From the side, the Smurf maintains a flat profile. Buyers will have the option of both dual-tone and single-tone body finishes. The new vehicle is fitted with 14-inch “Vibrant Pinwheel” alloy wheels.

Inside, the Livan Smurf presents a simple yet rounded aesthetic. The interior offers a choice of three colour schemes: Sakura Pink, Castle Grey, and Forest Green. Practical features include a two-spoke steering wheel, a rotary gear selector, a floating central control screen, and convenient external hooks.

The Livan Smurf measures 3100mm in length, 1558mm in width, and 1610mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2015mm. It has a curb weight of 815kg and a gross vehicle weight of 1125kg. Built with unibody construction, it features front and rear overhangs of 553mm and 532mm, respectively. The approach angle is 25 degrees, and the departure angle is 35 degrees. Its front track measures 1315mm, and the rear track is 1311mm. The tires are sized 155/65R14, and the vehicle is equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for enhanced safety.

Powering the Livan Smurf is a single electric motor with a maximum output of 30 kilowatts (40 hp). This motor enables the vehicle to reach a top speed of 100 km/h.
Livan Smurf is the rebadge version of the previously launched Geely Panda Mini EV, which sold 101,514 units from January to July this year, according to China EV DataTracker. CarNewsChina estimates it would have a battery pack around 17 kWh and a CLTC range around 200 km; the price would be under 36,000 yuan (5,000 USD).
